Default Carrier, 3 inch mortar T83628

Hi all,

I am a new member of this forum, and have just started a restoration of a 3" mortar carrier her in Dunedin, New Zealand.

I thought some people might be interested to see that another carrier is being restored in the South Island.

Purchased 5 or 6 years ago, the carrier has suffered the usual fate of having the upper plating removed, and most of the interior components.

I have just blasted and primed the hull, and fortunately the tracks are mostly free, and all of the wheels look OK.

I have recently picked up a suitable motor/gearbox, so the fun begins!

Just for the record, I also own several C8aX chevs, with one restoration underway, a CCKW, a 57 Daimler ferret, and a few other useful projects.

I look forward to meeting other members of the forum, and sharing our experiences of restoring carriers and other vehicles.

Kind regards,

Mark Cameron
