Here is an AWM photo showing an RAAF construction Squadron either loading or unloading a rather large lowbed trailer onto an LST. While the trailer is empty I guess it would hold some rather large equipment for movement elsewhere.

Les - Thanks, thats just what I was hoping to see.
Clif - thats an unusual looking rear end.

Here's something from the US - found on the website of IX Engineer Command http://www.ixengineercommand.com/index.php I wouldnt like to take this arround too many bends.
The site captions this as "2 1/2 Ton Truck towing a "Typical" load - 924 Engineer Aviation Regiment, Germany 1945". But I would think that it's more likely a 6 tonner, maybe a White or Corbitt.
