I can't help, sorry, but perhaps you can help me ?

In MMI perhaps from 2005 or 2006 there was a small black and white photo (three-quarter front left view) of a very interesting prototype vehicle built in the US during WWII. The closest thing I can describe it as, is somewhat like the APC in the movie 'Aliens 2'. From memory it was a large low-set angular box with wheels perhaps the height of the sides. It might have been 6-wheel drive. It wasn't a trackless tank.

I've checked through a collection of Classic Military Vehicles over the same timeframe and didn't find it, so I think now it must have been an issue of MMI, I'm kicking myself I didn't buy that issue at the time, just for that photo. It was on the right-hand page, towards the bottom from memory.

I'd really like to know if I wasn't dreaming this thing. I couldn't find it described in Crismon's Wheeled book, so that magazine issue is my only hope I think in finding out more about it.

Thanks for any help

Steve.

Default Is this it?

Hi Steve,
Hope this is it? Found in the Feb06 issue. Page 43.
It's a Dodge T223 WC62 modified into a heavy scout car.

G'day Ryan,
No, that isn't it This vehicle wasn't a converted truck or armoured car (that I recall), and the photo I am sure was a three-quarter front left view. There may have been some trees in the background. I really appreciate you taking the time to skim through your magazines for me!
thanks again,

Steve.
