I'm not proud of him, but my young bloke held the Victorian record for illegal road speed for a while.

Geoff has a Holden Maloo Utility and was caught at 236km/h, in a 100km/h zone. We had to fight hard to keep him out of the slammer. In the end he was only fines $1,000 and 12months loss of licence.

The Holden Maloo ute is nothing more that a race car in a utility body. These 6.3litre, 6 speed utes will do around 300km/h. Well liked by the younger set and costing around $67,000.
I hope that he has learnt his lesson because if he's picked up again, he will forfit the vehicle and end up in the slammer.
Regards Rick

Default Wow!

There have been recently one or two lunatics caught doing about 140 mph in England. On TV recently on one of thsoe reality police video shows one idiot was caught doing 100 mph on his bike in a 60 mph limit. If you do 30 mph over the limit here, say 100 on a motorway, you are going to get a ban.
The fastest I have been in a car in England is 120 in Porsche 911 Turbo and a Vauxhall nee Opel Senator.

In an effort to reduce street racing, which has claimed the lives of both pedestrians and other drivers in major centres, the Ontario government introduced a new law last year. The police may now confiscate your car on the spot and give you a fine up to $10,000 if you are caught doing 50Km or more over the posted speed. Unfortunately, most police now see this as a method of reducing highway speeding.
