I'm not snowed in yet but have been out in Alberta for a while.
Here's some pix of the rear fender corners. They're more like a 3" radius and they are a lot thinner than the front fenders but I don't have anything to measure them. The rolled edge ends up being 3/16" thick. For some reason my mouse won't click on the picture icon so no pix. Sorry about that. Maybe tomorrow.
I tried my Netscape browser and it lets me attach pictures while my Firefox browser won't let me.

Thanks for the info on the fenders. After seeing the ones in your pictures I'm still going with 12 gauge material. I was particularly gratefully for the view given as it answered my question as to whether the rounded edge went all the way round the fender; it does!

It's not my place to tell you how to do things....but 12 gauge is very heavy ..it's well over 2mm thick ....you may have to get it shaped to the correct profile on a heavy roller machine .

As David pointed out with his pictures , the rear fenders are thinner than the front ones ...which are about 16 gauge or 1/16" in the old system .

With the wire edging .. I used some 3/16" brake pipe and I soldered it along the edge of the 18 gauge sheet ..I filed it down to a round edge and it looks acceptable .

I know of a guy here who also made up a 1A1 body and he used 1/8" steel for the tailgate and other parts like the tool lockers ..but the original tailgate is actually 1.2mm or 18 gauge . The heavier steel also adds a lot of weight to the body... like driving around with an extra 2 cwt on board.
