Fletch, try contacting Nigel Watson (he is on here too) he has a list of most the carriers that are working or under restoration within the UK.

i only know of a few carrier owners in the UK

Kevin Powles (Collector)

Nick Bullock (CMP and Carrier collector)

Barry Read (collector)

Shaun Hindle (Tramps in Armour / East England Military Museum)

Nigel Watson (author of the carrier books, www.universalcarrierbook.co.uk)

sorry if i have missed anyone.... however all the above people are on this forum

Richard

Hi Bob
thanks for the welcome, yes i recieved your Email thank you, sorry for not getting back to you, got side tracked with the M.L.U sites. As for the number on my MORTAR CARRIER i am not sure the only number i can find is 123 which i assume would be 6123 if it is the correct number. I will be getting stuck in to it again soon, so i will post some photos of both my carriers on M.L.U. As to your other question no i am not related to captain Gordon Fletcher as far as i know

FLETCH....

Default Fletch

Hello and welcome Fletch.
If my memory serves me corectly, some years ago you and your father called into my old home at Mudgeeraba to pick up an engine that I had for an English carrier that I had given him, and a couple of weeksa later you both returned and bouight a pair of front mudguards and headlights for one of my carriers, I remember him well it was then, and still is unusual to find a person so honest and genuine
Once again welcome to the forum,
Regards Ron

Hi Ron
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the nice comment about the old fella, i guess in that part i am trying to be a chip off the old block.Did you also help out with a coupling from the gearbox to diff for the English carrier, i remember he made a quick over night dash up there to get it ?. As you can see from the photo the old girl turned out ok. The old fella got the bug for MVs again when i bought my first one but unfortunately he has lost interest again and his collection of trucks are now up for sale. Thanks again Ron and hope to keep in contact
regards: FLETCH.
