Isn't the internet and instant communication marvelous and how much we take it for granted. A military vehicle collector from Holland sends a picture, of a truck in Ontario, to another collector in British Columbia! Can you imagine how lonely a CMP collector would have seemed to have been 30 years ago.

When I bought my C8 several years ago I didn't know what a CMP was until I started searching the net. To me they were all just old Canadian army trucks. What a difference a number of years and 1100 posts on MLU can make! Instant info out of Europe, Australia and all over N America. Parts from anywhere. I got my Motley seat out of the US as well as my 19 set and info on the Motley came out of the Netherlands. Without the net I wouldn't have known what they were, much less where to find them. Even books on the subject would be impossible to find if you didn't know they existed.
All this information exchange makes you wonder what the next 20 years will bring. When my dad was a kid he was at Lands End when Marconi sent the first transatlantic message. How times have changed!

Terry,

I took a quick look at the Ford rear window and compared it with the Chevs. Although I didn't have a measuring tape with me they sure looked alike. Here are some shots (Orange truck is a Ford, the remainder Chevs):
