Default experts...

Met an expert last week and a local "show and shine".....he said he was in Europe when NATO started painting the vehicles with a camo paint scheme. He said it was the first time Canada ever had vehicles with camo . No big deal....but when he butted in when someone else had asked a polite question and started ranting about "wanna-bees" I held my tongue.

cheers

Mike

The blitz and I will be working partners for quite a while yet. This is what you get when you miss a years spraying due to a grasshoper plague eating all the leaves off the blackberries leaving nothing to take up the spray.

Default Playtime again

Drove the Blitz to the Batlow show yesterday and had a nice relaxing day sitting in the shade talking to people I only meet once or twice a year

Default Fantastic find to include a Bofors and the orig tray

Do you have a pic of the stamping for the details you list? Just interested in case there is also the WO number somewhere. And the chassis number presumably has 8443... also what is the ARN I can see but not quite read on your first image?

The tray & cab were made by Holden in Melbourne, the generator is a 4 cylinder Coventry Climax 7.5hp & the searchlight was made by General Electric Australia & stamped Beach Defence 1942.
I only have the chassis number because the alloy ID plates suffered due to being on the beach during the war. the only other ID is C60L Heavy AA/Beach Defence 1942 AA/H.- stamped both on truck & tray.

Hi Robert W,
I wanted to reply earlier but a cloud came between me and the saterlight.
You have a great Blitz and gun there and you were lucky the tray stayed out of sight for so long.
I don't make a living out of spraying but at least I managed to pick up enough work to pay for the work done to the blitz so far. I only get jobs the others carn't do as I am much slower than the modern rigs and I charge a similar hourley rate.
