G'day All,
Last two photos for now. Thanks for the tips about the gear lever and about the locked wheel. I did the same thing with hammers on brake drums when I had an EH Holden back in the 1980s and that was just ship loads of fun! Now I have multiply that effort up to truck size  Kind Regards Lionel

G'day All,
I could not resist putting in a photo of the condition of my tray. The bed is totalled while the main cross frame parts are in pretty good condition - bar one. At the front of the tray there are two gearwheels with one having a crank handle. The gear is connected to a shaft which has wire rope around it. As you turn the crank the wire rope winds down or up. Would this have been for lowering and raising the spare wheel? Kind Regards Lionel

the tray isnt original Lionel.
It's a post WW2 made up tray. You will have to study the AWM pics if you want to restore it as per its WW2 appearance .But thats up to you . Lucky for you, you have another truck of the same model. Mike
