A lot of these trucks were purchased & refurbished after the war by Holden before being sold through their dealership network and this is where the differing load weights would be recorded on another data plate added during the refurbishment.

where do i find any info on these holdens plates? i have an old ratty truck with the same sort of plates: HOLDENS. Body No:103. Model: redcar or bedcar (badge is old) Series:REV. Job No: Fulldoor. the 2nd badge reads ALNTQ. D8 B2. 3RD PLATES IS THE GMH CHASSIS NUMBER WHICH IS: S188957. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH SOME INFO PLEASE. This is the only site i can find with any thing on these holdens platses.

Ratster, do you have a name and location? We have no mystery guests here.

I can't help with much else, but the S in the in the serial indicates it was made in GM/H's Pagewood plant in Sydney. Some photos of your truck would assist in identifying it better.

sorry mate the names keith and im from beenleigh which is near the gold coast. i dont get on the computer much so sorry about the late response. i will post up some pics as soon as i can.
