Here is a pic of the hooks on C8AX #891
They have a hinged drop down section that locks them in place. Other trucks I've seen have a curved pin like the toolbox lockers. |

The Hand Throttle mystery is over! Have included two pictures for anyone who needs to know. Works for me.
The only part I am missing now is the radiator protector bar assembly for the Chev. Anyone got a plan for this? I understand the Fords were spring steel but the Chevs flat bar? If this is right I will make one myself, but if spring steel will get a spring shop to knock two up. |

Have finished the tray and got it in shed ready for the 'green dream'. The 4x2 on their tail gate now is only their as a brace. Only all the tray is painted the 4.5x2 can go on then.

Have got the Kiwi Box sitting on the chassis today. Tray was a lot taller than what I thought. Will leave the floorboards until I have finished the wiring. Am going to have to blow another coat of paint on the cab section as it’s a touch darker than the other paint. Ordered five tins mixed all at once to start, so either it goes darker over time or one was a bit ‘different’ maybe? May even leave it, suspose the CKD kits were all mixed and matched when they first left Canada the NZ on the boat.

Thanks Mike, I’m more than happy with the way it has turned out, given I have never tried anything like this before.
Am doing up the brake system on the truck at the moment. Have put a new kit into the master cylinder (which had 1¼” stamped on it but had been resized with a sleeve to 1”, quite new). The front and back brake cylinders are two different models Front has 2 S 231 stamped on it, not original I think, and back Delco 5450072 that are original as per part book. Both are 1 3/8 cups. The handbrake cable on the passenger side was hooked to nothing. The picture below is of the handbrake assembly for the drivers side. Anyone have any ideas on where I should be looking for the parts I need for the passenger side handbrake? Mick |

My tail lights and front indicators arrived and have been mounted. Finished the floor boards in the tray today as well. They look quite ‘polished’ only because I brushed them over with a couple of coats of Linseed oil and Kero mixed 50/50. The shine goes once it dries out a bit.
