| Portuguese FATs

Several years ago Eric Delcomemme published some pics on his website of a number of Ford FGTs in Portugal. He went to try to buy one but the price asked was too steep. I seem to recall they are now gone, but does anyone have an update? Source Has anyone heard from Eric lately?

Yes, you may cry now! H. P.S.: I briefly saw Eric last summer at a show, but did not get the chance to talk to him other than to say hi.

| Very sad

Bit of a tragedy for them to have survived so long in such good condition...

I know of one rear body which came from Portugal. It was used in the restoration (finished last year) of an ex-Danish Army CGT chassis/cab. This CGT lives in Holland. Other than that, I have heard rumours of ex-Portuguese FGTs in the UK, but have never seen any proof. H.

gday im new to the mapleleafup and have a few things to contribute such as photos from italy taken by my grandfather who was in the 2nzef as a quad driver in italy for 3 or more years, towing a 25 pdr, theres some good ones in there which might help some of you guys who are restoring. i dont know if there quads were ford morris or chev but a ford tamiya kit i have looks very similar, grandad jim always referred to them as quads. the only one i ever saw was in nz at motat in a yard with a lot of old unrestored vehicles, it was in vgc. |
