Default Re rubbering

Richard

Just found old details of a company that re rubbered my wheels in 2001.
R J B Rubber, Grange works, Batley, WF17 6LN.

They may still have all the details, Contact Trever Brown.

They did some expirements to get them right, as if they get to hot they strip off. So you have to get the material correct.

cheers Barry. I spoke to my old man about removing the old stuff he reckons a laithe with parting tool will be best i may have access to a laithe with enough throw to fit the wheels to.

Barry do you have any pictures of the wheel you had done ? can you recall what material they used ?

cheers

Richie

Default Re rubber?

Sorry can't find those details.
Best speak to Trevor at RJB if he's still there.
Perhaps this is something Martyn can check out as I think Batley is near him?
Yes your proabley right about removing with a laithe.
What i should have said is, if the new material rubber is wrong they will strip off on your first trip because of the side presure of track wrap.

Right. Kevin if your offer is there to test bench the wheel i can have one made up but it wont be until Feb (my pal is going to gloucester so will save on freight) you will probably need to test it in the most destructive spot on the carrier which in my humble opinion will be the rear bogey...... ket me know if you are up for this.

yes the shims are fantastic my front idlers i have changed bearings around etc and they are ok now. and i may be done in feb infact i beleive i will be done by then but with everything else my family and house etc come first and we have alot going on so Feb is a loose date so to speak.... plus i wont get any mileage done so we would all be wating longer for the results, where as you, or shaun, or Martyn, barry......Nigel....Ron (the list is getting bigger hehehehe) will no doubt clock up some miles and we can get the rubber tested for its viability for further production for everyone.

good score on the bearings though buddy i was quoted 48 + VAT per bearing for the correct size.... and circa £4 for the top end spec slightly bigger ones i have gone with. just hope the shim does not sweat onto the axle.. time will tell
