Hi Alex,
Your referring to what some call Pedal Up. Before starting each day its advisable to pump the gear change pedal at least 6 times in each gear to take up any slack in the automatic adjuster for each of the selected gear brake band. The adjusters take up any wear on the brake band. Its quite an interesting gearbox. When used correctly they work like a dream. I think the gearbox in this Ferret has been abused and the result is a worn out 1st and 2nd gear brake band. You do not use the gear change pedal like a clutch, as some often do. Cheers |

Whilst rebuilding one as an apprentice,I was told that Mr Wilson eventally went mad. No surprise with all those epicyclics moving around in his head.
