On e-bay at the moment, very reasonable price Champ (not Aust. Army). Been fitted with one peice windscreen.

OVERALL ITS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE
I HAVE HAD IT RUNNING AND DRIVEN IT ABOUT
BODY IS PRETTY GOOD NO MAJOR DAMAGE JUST A SPOT ON THE PASSENGER REAR WHERE THE TAIL LIGHT IS
MECHANICALLY DOES HAVE A COUPLE OF ISSUES TO SORT OUT
THERE IS A KNOCK IN THE GEARBOX THAT GOES AWAY WHEN YOU PUSH THE CLUTCH IN SO I WOULD DARE SAY ITS LOST A TOOTH OFF THE INPUT SHAFT OR CLUSTER
IT HAS NO BATTERIES AT THE MOMENT - NEEDS 2 UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT - 24 VOLT
IT STARTS MOST OF THE TIME - THINK THE NEEDLE AND SEAT ARE STICKING - ONCE IT STARTS IT RUNS ALL DAY - RADIATOR IS FAIRLY NEW
ALL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS CHAMP FROM CHAMP SPARES IN THE UK IF NOT
LOCALLY"

Interesting Extended Champ on Aussy E-bay at the moment

Never ceases to amaze me at the work that goes in to some of these home made hardtops, this one appearrs to be Land rover based and is quite neat. Would not be surprised if the extension was done to match the top.

Was wondering when this champ would make an appearance.
That hardtop does look very good indeed Richard.
So what was the purpose of the extention?

Conjecture on my behalf.

1. This was not done by the RAAF(that bit is not conjecture)
2. No tailgate on a champ, many rears were cut and modified to remedy this
3. On one hand a nice waterproof Landy roof with tailgate, on the other a slightly too short Champ.

Be interested to know what the ride is like with a load, and the dearture angle leaves more than a little to be desired.
After getting a price for a Champ with trailer to go to Tassy on the Ferry, this maybe a cheaper alternative.

"This Austin Champ is in very good condition. Everything works well, although the brakes will require some attention as it has been stored in a shed for many years. It has a very quite motor and includes oringinal tools such as crank handle, shovel and pick. The vehicle does require two batteries.Inspections are welcome."

Ex Australian Army, Rust issues maybe a more than the normal issue, as it appears that at some time in its chequered past, this Champ was used to launch boats at Warracknabeal.
