Maybe this felt part is what slipped under the three floor sections?. I have the steering column section and the template I have drawn up for the other two bits would fit spot on. Has anyone else found felt around this section before?

Hi Folks,
Well Mick has done a wonderful job on the restoration but has decided to sell the old girl - to me. I feel very lucky to have scored the prize and look forward to using and maintaining such a wonderful vehicle. ![]() This is my first Blitz, but not my first collectable or vintage vehicle so rest assured it is coming to a good home. I plan on getter out and about to some displays, shows and swap meets in the not too distant future and have big plans for a major fundraising event for Legacy featuring the Blitz. I'll keep you all posted. Cheers Pete Solomon |

Well you beat me to pass the news on here Peter.
Gave it one last wash today, drove around town and gave the locals one more look and wave at the old girl and she's on a tabletop heading to Texas Qld, Monday morning. Now, anyone got something I should be picking up from them to do up, I'm ready for a 'whole' new challenge. PM or email me Mick Last edited by Hanno Spoelstra; 18-12-11 at 18:34. Well, I've started pouring over the puddle jumper and am getting her ready for a Qld RWC today and hopefully full rego tomorrow.
Can any one tell me are there supposed to be pedal rubbers? Brake and clutch are bare metal and have stamped cross hatching and the Accelerator has two thin strips of rubber running down the middle. The manual that Mick left me looks like they have proper rubber pads? If so, where can I get a set? Cheers Pete

Hi Peter
My experience with CMPs has been that early Chevy CMPs 1941 and 1942 had rubber peddle covers just line the prewar civilian. While the later 1945 Chev CMPs had cross hatch pattern cast into the brake and clutch peddle units. Now to supposition, the change over could be for a number of reasons,
I've experienced the last two problems myself with my `41 Pattern 12 and '42 Pattern 13. The only way to keep the rubber covers on the steel that I've found is to glue them on. Change over from looking at parts books took place in 1944, can anybody nail it down better? Cheers Phil

Thanks for the info Phil,
It appears I'm on a steep learning curve in relation to the Blitz! I need some more help from my more learned restorers. ![]() While the old girl passed RWC with the black out light in place I want to put in another standard headlight - where can I get one? Also the original vaccumn wipers are somewhat tempremental and I have heard there is a 6v eltric motor that will fit as a replacement -I know it's a move away from original but it is a safety issue. Any one know where I can source those from. Cheers Pete
