yes legal, as quoted, Eric would tell you if it was the slightest bit shady.
I had occassion to have mine inspected by Ontario MTO and have always meant to get a copy of the report. The inspector was most complimentary about the way it was designed for the road and said there was no question in his mind it has a legal place on the road.
