So I may have better luck having someone haul them from Manitoba to northern Alberta (Fort Mac or something)?

If they're that close, I can even just make two trips with a borrowed half-ton and trailer-those I can get for free without any problems.

Default shipping a CMP

If you got them to Lac Labiche Transports yard ,Gerald Wowk owns it .I sold him a 1954 KW ,he restored it and 6 others ,that would not be too bad .He might be able to help you get them too .You are welcome to stay over at my place .It would be part way .It's not out of your way .I have a few CMPs .If it work's out he he might get a 10 ton RCAF Mack truck from me in the spring and could bring your trucks to my place that's 250 miles shorter. I'm restoring the first KW to work in the oil patch north of Edmonton ,a 1955 KW.If you buy a truck don't buy newer than a 2003 .The new ones don't run .they spend half of there time in the garage. And with this new fuel comming we are going to have a heck of a time with plug fuel lines . Curly Grayham in White horse knows me very well .He has a big yard on the north side .He help me find my Holmes wrecker for my DT969 .Keep in toutch George

On that subject, do you know of anybody locally or locally-ish that would be good to talk to in locating one?

Also, what yard does he own?

On another note, how much would it cost to have a CMP shipped from Britain? They're certainly a lot more common over there (And I'd love to have one that actually saw combat-my dream would be to find one that was used by the 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry, but I'd just be happy to find one that's a veteran of some variety), and often in better shape.

Actually, I think I was just looking there on Friday-didn't go in, since they were closed, but I did a few passes after work.

Didn't see any MVs, but I DID see an old '50s Ford pickup-looked a bit beater, but the body was all there, great candidate for a Rat Rod...

Also, the cost for shipping those trucks to Edmonton was less than half the price.

What I'll probably end up doing is waiting until I have the money to pick up a used work truck, getting the trucks shipped to a storage yard, buying a truck and trailer in Edmonton, and hauling them back to Whitehorse myself when it thaws out a bit.
