I must check my notes but the first approaches were made from Canberra to the DND in Ottawa iun June 1940 about CMPs. I must now look to see if I cna find any evidence of any order placed for evaluation vehicles. It may be that there is no record and this is new history. Is the engine/serial number known please which will pin down its likely build month? Also, when it arrived?

This is indeed new history! The engine number indicates May 1940 assembly of the engine, so say June 1940 assembly at the most of the vehicle. This is thus a very early FGT! One of the first in fact. Is anything known about it from the ARN book?

Very interesting .Will have to pay a visit to the AWM to get a copy from AWM 126

The dates of acquisition will be of immense value & interest. This may well be re-writing history as I said..and beggars the question as to whether there were any other CMPs imported at the same time?

AWM 126 is a series of ledgers - you'll need to ask for the right ones. Not sure how things are now but several years ago when I last looked at some they had to be ordered in advance as they were being kept offsite. I'd imagine you'd be able to ask for the one with that particular range of ARNs though.
