below are some pictures showing FAT chassis. The first is from Service Publications disc of factory photos the second and third are labled as CGT but shows how they came from the factory. I am not sure where I got the last 2 photos from.
I'd like to suggest that as this was an evaluation model bought here for testing that you restore it as supplied from the factory or with a truck cab rather then try and put a FAT body on it. This is just my 5 cents worth

Pics came from an album Brian Gough has which I photographed and put some up on Oldcmp.net.
It looks like they had the standard floor and driver's seat from the factories so they could be moved easily before bodies were added. Quote:

That is what I am thinking too
Restoring to as supplied status Mostly trying to work out what components were supplied when delivered Appears to me by various photos seen that the Ford and Chev floor plates for the gun tractors are different . Chevs seem to have the full width floor pan and the beetleback body just slid straight over it The Ford ones however appear to be cut in around the centre section of the beetleback chassis(On mine checker plate has been welded in to these areas at moment) My biggest dilema is that if restored to this floor pan configuration no seat would be able to be fitted and the vehicle would pretty much only be useable as a static display ![]() A very boring and sad state for an old girl Attached is a few pictures of Loyd's cab 12 in gympie showing floor pan and beetleback seats attached to body

That cut out would make seating rather difficult. Interesting to see how much higher the seating position is in an early FGT compared with the standard cab, around the same height as a cab 13, but with the pedals relatively lower.

here is a second factory photo shot from Service Publications disc of factory photos showing the GT from the front. While this does not show the floor pan it does show no windscreen.
I would say the the chassis and running gear was 'As Per' a full truck with the only body parts being a flat faced cowl with doghouse and dash plus the floor pan. You could rig a bracket to support a seat where the floor cut out is
