Hi Richard and all

All 10 units have been bent up, about 4 of these have been set up on a bit of plate and tinkered with so the hinging works and the bits fit together and look right.
The welding is a bit of an issue. The originals were oxy welded and this is very time consuming and costly. I am looking at tig welding as mig and stick welding just do not look good. I may have to go back to the oxy.

The other thing is the arm off the top bracket is riveted on. I have the rivets but must make the tools to rivet.

Once they are finished, I feel they will look the part.

A friend is helping with the final fitting etc but is currently away. For me personally I will be glad to finish the job. Having them out their on carriers will be worth the effort.

Please hold out. There almost done. A long wait but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Nigel

Nigel if it helps i have an oxy rig here and have a few pals who can run perfect seams with tig and mig welders, if you want to flat pack mine i can assemble it here in the UK if that makes it easier for you ?

thanks again for all your efforts needless to say you have poured yourself into this project.

Default Still in !

Well done sir !

I have certainly been lloking forward to seeing the finished product. In the meantime I have tracked down almost all of the other bits to put the whole correct antenna on the side of the Scout...

Cheers

Phill

Thanks Shaun. Your on the list.

Richard. You gave me an idea. I wonder if it is best that I tack weld the bits into the correct positions and let those who buy finish the welding to their..........standard. If the new owner chooses tig, mig stick or oxy that's up to them.

Show of hands please.

Hi Phill. We have to talk. 0418 795 022 I'll ring you straight back.

AND

I am grateful to have acquired a pogo stick from a follow carrier nutter (it's ok ,he called me a "bird" once). I have priced the bren attachment to be cast and done some of the sums for the rest including the spring. In truth, I've brought the pipe already. That was a good way to spend money I thought the steel man meant per length but it turned out to be per metre.

So, they look like being somewhere around $200+ Aussie dollars each. That's about the same in US dollars at the moment.

Any interest?

Oh and I'm making Sheppard crooks as well. $200 Aussie each. Blacksmith made with old 1 inch bar from a scrap yard. got that old look about it. 3 in England and 2 in France already. I think about $100 Aussie to post.

Thanks
N
