Someone posted a photo of a rear light that was hung off the rear of whatever you were towing. Where was this supposed to be plugged in? On a Loyd you have a rear light and a convoy light reflecting from the centre of the rear axle which is painted white, however when the 6 Pdr is following along behind it would be totally invisable to the following vehicle....the only 6v hook up point is right the way at the front on the dash panel.

Another type of light was made for towed artillery and towed mortars but I don't know what year they were introduced. Basically it is a metal disc painted white which hangs below a heavier piece of angled metal which would rest against the bottom of the towed item's barrel. A strap wraps around the barrel to keep the device in position. And the small convoy lamps shines onto the white disc to illuminate it when plugged in via a small window while the end with a red lens also illuminates. The cable has armoured braiding and is 15-20 feet long so it can reach the dash power socket on a carrier. This example is 1944 dated on the quick-release pattern webbing strap and drawings of this item are shown in my 4.2-inch towed mortar manual along with other mortar specific accessories.
