I was given a bell tent and thought it would be nice to set it up at one of the car shows last summer with my carrier so I layed everything out on the ground, attached the 2 poles, had the pegs ready and hoisted up the tent and as I was starting to peg the ropes down I heard a ripping sound and looked up just in time to see the whole tent hit the ground with just the top canvas piece still at the top of the pole. The stitching was rotten and with the weight of the tent, ripped the threads out and that was the end of that idea.I have been meaning to try and sew it back together but looks like a big job and not sure it can be done by hand and I can only imagine what an upholsterer would charge to re-sew the whole tent again.I would have a good look at the tent and erect it to see if it holds well before offering him any real money for it.Good luck.
Regards,Derk.
