Hi Folks,

I've been a long time follower of this forum and I must say I was surprised when I log in after over a year and I see a disc about of all movies, the 49th parallel.

An interesting tidbit of trivia is that some of the Canadian soldiers used as extras in the making of the film were from the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. Parts of the movie were filmed in Niagara Falls in the fall of 1940 and the movie company hired members of the Regiment to fill various roles.

I've attached a photo held by the museum depiting some soldiers from the unit posing in front of a production van during a break in the filming.

Cheers,

Steve

PS technical question. How can one go about changing their forum name to thier real name. I'd rather not hide behind a nickname seeing as no one else is doing so.
