Chris,

It was good catching up with you again and I nearly cried when I finally saw the tanks I initially purchased on Epay three or four years ago....no Keith, not because of their condition , but because as Chris says....It was the first time I saw them with my own eyes. And believe it or not...I am happy with them! Even though it will be a challenge to convert them to the correct C8 details and get them to useable conditon. Thanks Keith and Chris.

In the meantime.....any suggestions on how to get the larger dents from the tanks, without cutting or drilling holes????

I'm pleased you like them - just a shame they weren't better but thanks to Chris you now have them.

Don't worry Keith....they are probably better than anything I can get here in Holland.....or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

The tanks made quite a trip..I bought them on Ebay after my good mate Grant said he could pick them up and fit them into the container when he was moving his Abarth and parts from Melbourne to Amsterdam. But after the purchase we found out the pick up address was 3 hours from Melbourne in stead of 0,5 hours......two villages with a slightly different name
So, Grant had to make quite a trip and got educated on Blitzes...tanks than move to Grants garage, but moved to a storage after the garage had to be cleared on short notice.....plan with the container than also changed....Abarth stayed in Australia and container turned into ro-ro....with no space for CMP fuel tanks....tanks where than brought to Keefy by Grant....and the rest of the trip is described by Keith.....Anyway...it adds to the character of my C8 when it is finally done and when getting interviewed for the European "Year of the Blitz" DVD

Hi David

I guess you'll better hurry up as I guess there won't be a lot more events. For the last 2-3 years there were always rumours that it'll be the last one. This year, only about 10 tanks with rubber tracks (no steel tracks anymore, except the tank destroyer which was most of the time loaded onto a trailer) were driving on the roads. Pretty low number if you compare with former years And it was quite a mess on Sunday, the convoy was splitted in several groups and every group took another route. Not easy to follow, as they didn't follow the route which was driven the last few years. And there was a lot of mud and water in the woods, so most vehicles missed the fun part for spectators.

So you better plan a trip for the last weekend in August 2012!

Greetings from Switzerland
Chris
