Hi all - minimum of $400 to restore with new switches plus $230 to restore the temperature gauge if not working plus the purchase price. Very expensive exercise for those not in the know.

You gotta get a bit wiley with your negotiating! Postage too costly? It sure is..........but here's what you do:
Contact the seller. Tell them you only want the instruments or whatever it is you are interested in. If 'buy it now' is acceptable to you, tell them they can keep the rest & relist, give em away or whatever they want to do with them. Ask about a revised postage cost for the greatly reduced weight and bulk of the pod alone. Done this several times with success & struck a fair deal each time. If they are not interested..........well you lost nothing and maybe you will word the email proposal better next time. ![]()

Hi Tony - well aware of bartering. What I have to watch though is the initial aquisition costs so I can keep costs down to my clients. I just spoke to a guy who had an Internationl KB4 panel restored for $1000. He was a bit pissed off when I told him my costs were between $300-$400. Similarly another guy had a speedometer rebuilt for many hundreds of dollars and it still does not work. My price would have been about $100. And with all my stuff, if it breaks down I fix it for free.

It has a piece cut out of it, no data plates and is late production.
