As a matter of interest, I was looking at the photos on the auctioneers website and the Coles crane in particular. It is very similar to the Coles Mk5 Bridging crane operated by the Royal Engineers back in the 70's, except this one has fairings around the rear wheels, windows in rear of cab and other minor things. Is this a piece of ex-Australian military equipment? In British service it was the last of the old type diesel/electric cranes before the hydraulic types came in to service. They were powered by an AEC AV760 engine and Militant running gear.

Is anyone going along to the auction? It will be interesting to see a report of what went on and prices achieved, if anyone does go.

regards, Richard

Richard,
Ganmain Tony, Ryan, Jan T and Myself are known starters at this stage, so there should be a report issued afterwards.
Howard.

There has been a lot of promotion of the Clearing Sale so there are bound to be a number of people attending.

Hopefully those attending the sale who are coming to Corowa next year will have a spare $15 to pay for their entry. Take your entry form and hand it over at the sale and then you can save a stamp. I will have some spare forms and KVE newsletters so feel free to ask me if you forget. Richard Farrant in the UK in entering all the entries for Corowa so hopefully I can collect a few and will scan and email to Richard.

I am also looking forward to catching up with mum and dad who will also be there.

There is viewing on the Friday from 1 to 4pm.

Default sale

How are people staying overnight if they are?
I see there is a pub with accommodation.
Better than the car with the seat reclined all the way back.
