Hi Hanno, the 'in the background shot' is either a 39 or 40, without seeing the headlight configuration not possible to determine. 39 had 'tear drop' type headlights, 40 they were raised upright as per the picture. RCAF appears to be a 38 Model 81A.

Hi
Just found this photo on the AWM site http://cas.awm.gov.au/item/023321 Description ANTELAT, LIBYA. 1942-01-17. A NO. 3 SQUADRON, RAAF UTILITY TRUCK BEING TOWED BY AN ARMY TRUCK THROUGH A VERY STICKY PATCH AFTER HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE WESTERN DESERT.
