There was more coverage on the local news and on the TV military/history channels this year than normal here in Texas. In recent years there is usually only a few comments about the event. And the TV stations usually randomly feature documentaries with little concern for airing them around their actual anniversary.

Wonder if much was said in Hawaii since the Japs own so much of the real estate there now.

I did hear a brief comment on the South Australia ABC News today that there was an event in Hawaii today with some veterans attending. I can't understand why nowdays you hear very little on WW2 Historic events. Maybe they think it was all too long ago. But with the Hollocaust there is always plenty coverage around to remind you of the event.

Sad but true. Soon only the people with a specific interest in the history will remember and care. School kids will probably still grow up knowing about the event, but it will be another meaningless thing to them that might possibly have to be remembered for a few weeks.
