Well down here in Melbourne it was hot and sweaty for most of the day then we scored a white Christmas after all with a massive hailstorm.
![]() Which was then followed by flash flooding. ![]() In fact we were actually cut off by floodwaters for the first time in over 20 years. A Christmas day to remember.

Meanwhile 100kms south of Keith we had blue skies with sun and warmth and a light wind. Not a drop of rain. We watched the news in amazement.
![]() Hoping all had a fun and happy Christmas. ![]()

We saw it on the news tonight. The snorkel seals must be in good nick but what about the pump on the back they breath just above the tray.

What was the rest of the story? As the text points out this was not a planned fording, I would say the crew had no idea how deep the water was when they started in. But once in the drive just kept his foot down, wonder how close they came to the top of the snorkel? The two guys in back were obviously getting ready to swim for it when their seats went under.
Good work for a lucky crew, in perspective they probably were not in any more danger than a regular emergency run on clear dry day. People not yielding to emergency vehicles or not hearing them is probably a much greater risk. Thanks for sharing the video Cheers Phil

The interesting thing is they didn't need to go through it as there was an alternative route they could have taken, and being locals they would have known that. I think you're right, they were caught out by how deep it was, not having experienced anything like it before.
Belinda had to work and was turned back a couple of times by the fire crews as she tried to find a way home, finally arriving via a neighbour's driveway. Quote:

I like how the wipers are on 'intermitant' while almost totally submerged!
