Full tracked T 16 for sale in Nebraska it has the wrong motor in it and needs new side and front armor added but have local welding shop will add for around $1000.00 tracks are ok asking $5000.00 for the unit contact Kevin at (402)372-5110 so for around $6000.00 you could have a real head turner and a very nice toy to play with

Default T16 for sale in Colorado

Howdy Gents,
As much as I hate to do this, I am way over my head in other projects. I have an Ex-Swiss U.S. built T16 for sale near Denver Colorado. This was one of the four that came out of Russ Morgans inventory years ago. The Gentleman I bought this project from started it buy having the Engine and Transmission sent out to a pro Ford Flat Head Shop and had the engine completely rebuilt and the tranny gone through. In the tranny they replaced the bearing and several gears. They weren't bad but the owner had extras that were new. The engine is bolted to the Bell housing and tranny and can be test ran is so desired, but as explained, they are redone like new. The only thing wrong that I can see that the shop didn't know any better and painted them red instead of Ford Blue. So far that has been the extent of this restoration. Everything as far as I know seems to be there.
All of the four units that came out of Ft. Collins were known to be farily nice Swiss units. Its time to completely strip the hull of the tracks and all interior controls....blast...prime....paint and reinstall.
The past owner said the only items he knew of that were so bad that they will need to be refabricated, were the control rods that lay right on the bottom as suffered the most rust. The hull still has original "T' numbers visable. I have been soaking all the hardware and fittings with "Kroil" since I have owned the project which has been less than 6-7 months. It was my dream and plan to attack this project and have a wonderful "Carrier"....but I just don't have the time to see it through right now.
The price FOB Sedalia Colorado is $14000 I do have a trailer and could help deliver within 100miles. The tracks are in typical good condition. I have manuals, spare boggies and some parts that only go with the project.
I can take pics....but please only to serious buyers. Looky-loos need not respond. 303-912-2170 MST

Howdy Mr. TiredIron,

It would help if you post you name.
And one or two pictures would be welcome too, they work wonders when you try to sell something.

Thanks & regards,
Hanno

Default T16 on ebay

If anyone is interested and doesn't mind braving the elements and a large Rotweiller in New Hampshire, there is a T16 for sale on ebay (auction 150217563693). Running gear looks to be complete, armour looks to be missing. Last bid was 13 hundred and change. Derek.

Saw that one in Cat Yellow. Almost looks like an International gravel bed being used for the upper body on it. So far it'd be worth the money and then some for good wheels, wheel assemblies and tracks. Not to mention rear end and engine for parts if nothing else.

If the snow inside would last long enough down here in Texas so my kids could play in it with the nice puppy, I might be tempted to go get it

Interesting - this is the SECO conversion of the T16 into a load carrier. Note how a US mil spec cargo body has been fitted on top of the cut down hull. This "sword-turned-into-plougshare" could be worthwile to display (at least for a while?), as it tells a interesting tale.

Hello Hanno,
Pardon my ignorance, but what does the term "SECO" mean?
Thanks, David

Its South Eastern Equipment Company in Georgia. This is their web page:

http://www.rockanddirt.com/perl/sell...d=show&id=1633

They imported most of the T-16s that are in North America from the Swiss government and had plans to turn them all into Scat Cats for use as mules in the logging industry.

Barry,

Thanks for spotting this one. It failed to sell this time, but it will no doubt pop up on Ebay later again.

Cheers,
Hanno

T16's tend to be worth approximately 25% less than Universals because they are less desirable to collectors.

A good restored 100% complete Universal in the UK at the moment I would currently value at approximately £15,000 to £20,000. Note the complete bit as there are lots of vehicles out there missing most of their internal stowage.

I think you would be luckly to get £15,000 for a mint T16 at the moment. Having said that there are lots of silly people out there.

Hi Richie,
This is not my sentinal hull, not selling that at the moment. this is a Canadian lower hull, it still has the lower hull number visable on the rear angle iron. it has no rot and needs most of the top armour making apart from the spare gunners and drivers armour which has been temporaly bolted on. it was made to look like a captured "bren carrier" for our desert display at the war and peace show this year (are we going to see you there next yea ?). glad to see you are progressing with your project.

Sent the T-16 chap a message and he said:

I have just heard from a relaible scource that the chap should be given a wide birth, the 25k price bracket for unrestored T16 would echo this, bearing in mind Kevin weatcroft had two hulls for sale last year for 4500 GBP.......mind they were in super poor state and were empty within (but the hulls were ok) also got offred another T16 complete 14miles on clock with seized engine for 9K.... this was only just last year.... I shall not name my scource but that person has had direct dealings with the seller in the past. i think pending on what comes with Shauns his would be the better deal, mind me being me i would be a hagglin

EDIT: i should clarify that i have had no dealings with this chap and i can only take comments on face value, those that have dealt with the chap are members on this forum and i would leave it to them to comment if they wish...

The slope on the front hull makes me think there is more knee room for the driver. Can anyone with 'seat time' confirm?

There is lots of room for knees and heavier set people up front in both positions on a T-16. Plus steering is with tiller bars so you don't have a vertical wheel in your chest taking up space as on other types of carriers.

Nuts and bolts are all modern fine or coarse thread so even grade 8 replacements are easy to source and affordable. And most of the engine, tranny and brake parts are readily available, having been used for 20+ years on common commercial Ford vehicles.

Some of the reasons I went that route instead of getting a more traditional British/Canadian Mk I or Mk II pattern. Link below is the MLU thread where I have a series of photos of my vehicle being restored so you can see the space available if you browse through them.

i had a look at the two t16's a couple of months ago and they were pretty bad, as in really really bad, but if that's all that's available then you just have to bite the bullet sometimes and make the most of what you've got, i told the seller i'd have them but was waiting for a bit of cash to come through from a job and that if anyone else came along with the money in the meantime then he was under no obligation to hold them for me, they both went off the market for a while and now they're back on again with the same seller but this time for £7.5k and £4.5k. so gone up by £3.5k in two months

Canadian T16 Bren Carrier WWII Good restoration project Item number: 290027827620.

This is one of Rod Shaver's T16's. Seems this owner didn't do much to it (exept bump up the price).

Default T-16 For Sale In Belgium

While searching on Ebay I came across a T-16 that is for sale in Belgium. It has no top armour on it and had a lot of other modifications done to it. Starting bid is 2,500 Eruo's or buy now for 3,500 Eruo's. It is listed on Ebay.ca Item # 300152066455. Looks like it would be alot of work to get it back to original but if some one really didn't like themselves they could do it.

Eric
