Default Meet Up

Absolutly! We will have a BBQ and member (CMEC) appreciation weekend, with maybe a drive up a local mountain. Welcome to camp out in or on the grounds. We lost our access to the showers when the landlord leased out that side of our building. Are you bringing that CMP in the picture?

Thanks Harry
We will contact you closer to the date as to where to meet etc .

Yes that is the vehicle we will be bringing, it is an Australian bodied wireless van, as you would know the running gear was imported from Canada and the cab and body was made in S Aust and they were put together in the GMH assembly factories in each state. Approx just over 1000 were made between 1942-43.
I am running it on 8.25x20 tyres which are easier to procure than the 9.00x16's.
We took it to Europe in 2009 on the trip that went from Turkey to Belgium .
Have attached picture of the van on Omaha beach.
Regards
Jim S.

Default Continental!

You'll have to book something in Chili with a side trip to Antarctica and you will have covered all the continents, oh wait... Come back via Africa too!

Default Convoy(s)

WOW, there was a mass ball of confusion here because there turne dout to be 2 convoys running to Alaska at the same time, Western Command and MVPA, WC is going faster and taking less time while MVPA is going slower and taking the whole month. I have had issues with suppliers fixing parts for me so I have not left yet, I am travelling with the MVPA convoy.

I think, in my opionion that it was not very smart to organize 2 convoys doing the same route at the same time as I was very confused until I found out what was happening and a lot of my friends/sponsors were confused and I almost lost some sponsors because of the mix up.

Not sure why both groups could not hav travelled together or at least worked together to organize a less confusing event that would have worked in everyone's favour.

Gary,

Just think of it as a more realistic recreation. During the war there would have been 10 convoys passing a point on a single day.

No matter how hard the organisers try I understand the start might be a bit of a schemozzle with flocks of green vehicles descending on town.

It will all sort itself out so stay cool and just join the group following the guide holding up a flag or umbrella of the right colour for your mob.
