Casey..... As discussed earlier on this forum, there is a 67 M38A1 right across the street from you and as far as paint colors, we can get them matched, whether you spray them, brush them or put them on with a roller. All you have to do is call me or come on over. Robert

Hey guys, there is a difference between the early 3 colour cam and the modern 3 colour cam. The more recent 3 colour includes 1 green, 1 brown and 1 black, unlike the 70's pattern of 2 green and 1 black.

The old 3 color cam is totally different form the NATO cam. I have the early cam pattern for 3/4 ton and 1-1/2 ton sitting before me here, and it looks nothing like the pattern that Alain shows for the US M416 trailer.
I'll scan and post it later. |

Here is a photo of the M101 and M104 cam pattern. The army did not spend a lot hiring the guy who drew this, but it should be accurate.

Wow, Rob. You are not kidding.
Do you know the correct order for the colour numbers 1,2,3? I would assume 1= green 2= brown and 3= black and that these colours would be the 383 carc colours. Please advise.

This image may help you fingure out the colours.

1= olive green (similar to 34070 but nicer: less brown and more yellow)
2= flat black 3= flat green (similar to 383 green but uglier The browns did not start coming into play until the early 90s. This pattern was for the early 3 colors. By the time the new paint colours came in, the directive was that all B vehicles and trailers went flat green only. |

The only reasons that I thought mine should have the 1990s Nato pattern on it are:
1- it appears to be green, black and a very faded brown 2- it is a 1981 mfg that went well into the 90's in service 3- it served in CFB Lahr as well as in Bosnia in 92-93 Thoughts?
