Gary,
Just think of it as a more realistic recreation. During the war there would have been 10 convoys passing a point on a single day. No matter how hard the organisers try I understand the start might be a bit of a schemozzle with flocks of green vehicles descending on town. It will all sort itself out so stay cool and just join the group following the guide holding up a flag or umbrella of the right colour for your mob. Lang

Inevitable confusion
Things got split up when WC was organizing the trip from the lower mainland to mile 0. Only one member got registered with the MVPA by the cutoff. So with at least 6 or more of members wanting to do the trip we organized around the legions and AN&AF clubs. So the trip got planned anyways. Some decided to push on to Alaska and were joined by several others that never got registered for the MVPA convoy. The cutoff was over a year before the convoy so our group looked after the stragglers. Not everybody that went went the whole way.
Our group had 8 or 9 at the most, over 100 for the official one.

While internet connections on the trip were spotty more will get posed hopefully on MLU.
In the meantime if you can check out Facebook, both western Command and the military vehicle preservation association are on Facebook.

Stop and say hello for me!
While my wife and I were driving up to Alaska via the highway we stopped to ask where the cenotaph was while in Fort nelson. A man resembling santa Clause looked up from his paper and asked "Why?" The floowed with i didn't think too many young people know what one was let alone where it is....Long story short...The old one was destroyed when a car hit it so they were starting to build a new one in front of the Museum which he owns! All the vehicles in the Museum work and run including the 1919 bus. We stayed and helped the locals work and finish the cenotaph! Marl as he was introduced to us was delighted we stayed and said we were welcome back anytime.
So when you drive past and through Fort Nelson please... stop andMeet Marl and see his collection of Military vehicles that run and were left behind during construction of the Alaskan Highway. Say hello for Casey and Anita Bramhoff! Thank you! OOOPs well i guess it's too late to say hello but did anyone see the Museum in Fort Nelson!

The WC crew arrived in Quesnel ( pronounce Kw-eh-nel) last night and are on there way home today. Long trip and this was the short one!

Sorry to have missed out on all the fun, but our first child Caleb Eugene 7lb14oz arrived one week overdue on July 31 and prevented Amber and I from getting out at all.
