Default When looking at old Chev trucks for engines/parts.....

...... the radiator and horse collar that holds the rad can be found on 1940-46 era civilian farm trucks...... and with some mods are interchageable with CMPs..... look for 3 to five tons grain trucks.... oil delivery....

Good hunting.

I started on a Cab 12 Chevy last winter and have the frame ,brakes, motor, and drivetrain completed.
You have a nice dry looking Alberta truck and you will have a hoot
restoring it.
I advise to get the 261 engine if you can ; there are plenty around
and not a huge deal to update.
Thank god for my mentor MR Carrierre last year. If you need some
advise I can help a bit as I have had frame and drivetrain experience.
I live 1 hour east of Calgary

Thanks for all the info and connections!

The tires are 20 inch and in really great shape for their age.

I believe the cab is a 13 but not sure what in the plate indicates the cab?

Found some manuals on a Australia website. From the wheel base looks like a C60L.

Can't find much on the tranny. Anything different with the right hand drive?

Throw a few more photo's out there.

Thanks all!

Bob

Default Data plate

The data plate looks correct for an early 42 Cab 13 C60L, although I have not seen one attached to the side of the dash like that before. The 8443 in the number is the GM code for the 158" wheelbase C60L.

Whilst the tyres (tires in your part of the world) look good they are probably very hard and will likely fly to pieces if used.

Default MB C1 manual

Bob,

I have a spare original MB C1 manual, and I'm a lot closer than Australia!! PM details to me if you would like to purchase, and I'll work out postage from Colbert to whereever, Alberta.

I see no 'holes' in the bumper for the 'cats eye reflectors': anyone care to comment on this abberation?

Good luck with the project: it IS addictive! Before you know it, your current CMP will have multiplied into several......

(Hope your partner is the understanding sort!!)

Default Need one more picture....

Hi Bob

Can you look at or take a picture of the top of the front axle behind the tire or tyre....... there is a pivot point that allows the front axle to steer..... the steering arm is bolted to the front axle...... how many bolts are holding it in place..... 4 or 6.......?

You stirred up a lot of attention.

Your cab looks to be in very good shape and the frame very straight.....

..... and HI Terry...... now that the farming is done will you get back to the cab 12...?

On the bumper reflectors .... from my experience they seem more prevalent on early cab 11 and 12..... and some 13 cab..... and some cab 13 only have one hole ...??
