Intended Carrier recovery, wisdom sought

The usual spot behind the drivers head has been cut off.
On the dash armour in front of the driver there are three symbols - XWo.
On the back at the back left of the armour it is - 26948 after that there is a "C" with a vertical line through it.
On the left of the air inlet above the gunners head - TL1277TL.

Any help in getting some history would be appreciated.
