Thanks Bob,
I have an industrial machine also,it may even have made cmp cushins in the past...old military one! Canvass is not a problem as i have a roll squirled away for a rainy day to do museum projects with. Lift the dot fasteners can be bought from Fastenal or so there big blue bible says they can but they come chromed...flat black spray paint before says they wont be chrome for long. Just looking for some dementions, more for the seat back as the bottom from photos looks easy.

....using gun blueing solution....also comes in black.
It works wonders and is much more permanent than black paint. I use it on new bolt heads when I want the paint to stick better. Bob C.

I haven't even tried to order from them, but these people http://dotfasteners.thomasnet.com/vi...ockets?&bc=100 list the fasteners as being available in "government black" finish as well as chrome.

Grant, you are correct. DOT sells Lift-the-Dot sockets and backing plates in what they call "Government Black". Packages of 100 are the smallest quantity.
The same items can also be purchased from the Canadian supplier, although only in larger quantities. (i.e. 1,000 is the smallest number) |

Both my seat bases had the twist to lock type.
If they weren't original it would be a bizarre coincidence, as the seats were not a pair, but from different vehicles. I chose the best pair from a few that I have. The fasteners were older than moses, and the cushion set I bought (reproduced from original canvas) had the matching part that fits, suggesting the maker expected this style of fastener. Because I didn't make them myself, I can't help with patterns.
