Default Government Black

Grant, you are correct. DOT sells Lift-the-Dot sockets and backing plates in what they call "Government Black". Packages of 100 are the smallest quantity.
The same items can also be purchased from the Canadian supplier, although only in larger quantities. (i.e. 1,000 is the smallest number)

Default Fasteners

Both my seat bases had the twist to lock type.
If they weren't original it would be a bizarre coincidence, as the seats were not a pair, but from different vehicles. I chose the best pair from a few that I have. The fasteners were older than moses, and the cushion set I bought (reproduced from original canvas) had the matching part that fits, suggesting the maker expected this style of fastener.

Because I didn't make them myself, I can't help with patterns.
