Buy it Terry, then we can have a thread on the intricacies of keeping an M151A2 on the road. They are an extremely smooth vehicle cross country, and have a much more modern design of an engine than the Willys. I put many many miles on mine back in the day and always regretted selling it. I thought nothing of taking it for a 1000 mile round trip, and it rarely let me down.

Default twist my rubber arm!

I hear you Rob. Finances and haulage are the immediate concerns.

Bah, finances!!! That's what credit is for. As to transportation, they A-frame like a dream and are relatively light. A half ton, an A-frame, some safety chains, and a pair of the magnetic lights is all you would need. I don't think you even have to disconnect the shafts, since the transfer case and transmission are the same gearbox, and the t-case will splash enough oil.
Fly to Edmonton, rent a pick up with unlimited mileage, and you are good to go.

Hi Rob

Nothing wrong with A Frame towing I have been towing my 1942 MB Jeep up to 1500 Kilometres without a hitch and towing is so easy you have to keep checking the mirrors to see if she is still there. I have installed free wheeling hubs and remove the rear axles for long trips and its a breeze. But to far to tow to Australia.

Cheers

Tony

Just a couple more things: It has been welded in the middle from side to side like most of the ones I have seen. I took this unit on a trade so I don't know to much on the history of the unit but had to do some mechanical work on it to get it road worthy. The previous owner has put some patches in the floor where your feet rest on both sides and also in the back corners. The body is in average condition but defiantly not pristine. It is currently registered here in Alberta.

Funds transferred Wed pm. I will confirm with the branch on Thurs that they arrived. Thx! Looking forward to getting some in-transit insurance and closing the transportation auction.

For newcomers to parts of this game, www.uship.ca is a site where you post a load and truckers bid to take the load.
