Default USN vehicles

Good luck my friend.

Most navies don't care much about their shore equipment; they want to get underway and get some deep water under the keel! There is information on things that float, but little on anything that rolls. (I wonder if anyone anywhere has even bothered to research the type of shore-based equipment.)

If so, it might be in American wartime books and magazines on the war effort and postwar books capturing the disappearing history of the naval bases and stations. If there are photos, they will probably show gaunty sailors and sturdy ships, with a few parades and magnificent-looking headquarters' buildings.
