The seats have a sprung base - which is far superior to foam which is most commonly used in restorations. These are not easy to find though.

I think the 13 radiators are slightly different
I have fitted 2 different radiators from 13 cabs to my 12, but the lower hoses don't line up with the water pumps. They can be made to fit, but not without a lot of swearing. The shroud is also different allowing for a cross bar to be inserted through the upper part of the shroud. H.

On any original ones I have seen they are painted the same colour as the vehicle, often over a black undercoat, although I have some original new old stock parts which don't have even the black under them.

Thanks Keith.
I was told the cab 12 was painted portland stone when it was sent to the middle east or while she was posted there, but was she painted army green on the production line. So does that mean the motor was army green even after it was sent to the middle east? ![]()

Shane,
In answer to your engine covers they do indeed come as three seperate pieces. Two side covers and one that goes over the engine oil filler and gear stick. I have gone right through my photo's cant find a single one of the engine covers. Found one without them of course... ![]()

![]() It was years ago that I removed the radiator from Jo's 13, but I am sure that the bottom hoses were OK for alignment in the 13, but not in my 12. ![]() ![]() Hmmm... I'll have to check! Shane, Sorry for hijacking this thread... but it will be good to have an answer! Cheers, H

H, the only difference between a cab 12 and cab 13 chassis are the brake and clutch pedals and the fact it has two front cab mounts. The radiator and engine mounts are identical.

You may have a carrier radiator, they turn up in CMPs sometimes. My cab 13 F60L from Ian Styles has acquired one at some stage. They have stepped down bottom outlets which result in a kinked bottom hose when fitted to CMPs, as seen in pic 1. You may not have noticed when removing it but you can't help but notice when trying to refit one! It's possible some commercial trucks had this type of bottom outlet too, however you can identify a carrier radiator by the union in the overflow pipe, as seen in pics 2 & 3.
