Found a few more items for my carrier in a shed Rob,Laun & I were in today.
The starting crank rod for my carrier.I had made one up but it always bugged me I didn't have an original one and now I do! I also found one more track pin to complete the 6 needed for my tool list.Another good find was the socket BB 17033 B that I needed for my carrier tool list. Thanks to Rob who identified it to me and made me realize I was still looking for that one.At the bottom of a pail was a brass cap for a flimsy and it just happens that I need one for a 2 gallon I have that was missing the cap! I also found a jack that I believe is for the WWII jeep.Maybe a jeep purist can confirm this for me.I did an internet search and viewed the images and some show a rectangular base plate and some show the square base that I have. Regards,Derk.

Derk your Jeep jack looks right, although mine has a slightly different top? Your bras cap looks to be from a standard 2 gallon fuel/oil/water can. A Flimsy is a 4 gallon can (pre Jerry can). The cap would have a male thread. I've been looking for a Flimsy to add to my collection for over 25 years. Ron

PS I had a feeling that the flimsy had a tear off cap (like a ring pull) This picture seems to confirm that at least some did. Ron

Hi Ron,
I have a bad habbit of calling the 2 gallon fuel/oil/water can a flimsy even though it has been discussed on MLU the difference between the two. Thanks for the correction. I assume that there was more than one company that built and supplied jacks for the jeeps during it's production. There seems to be a few different versions out there.I will assume mine is correct unless told different. Thanks for your help. Regards,Derk.
