There are quite a few different grenade boxes. There are the "square" ended ones, and the ones with the cut off corners. Each of those two types comes with bolt holes in the base, or bolt holes in the back. I think they all have different part numbers? I have two NOS boxes that are not drilled. Maurice, there should be a part number somewhere. There is more to be found on these if you search "grenade boxes"

My March 1943 Mk.1* carrier had this type of wooden inserts in the original grenade boxes that were still attached when found.
