Hi Shaun.

Actually, both those photos are from the same carrier at Ford Canada. You will see the weld bead running down the corner of the front armour in the first photo. behind the loophole cover plate stowage bracket.

You have raised an interesting question. Give me a couple of days to look through the photos I have from Ford and I will post a new thread and comments. We might be onto something here.
