I thought they stayed on all the mk1 standard carriers. They may not have been on the mortar carriers or other variants due to differing stowage requirements.
The one I have clips under the two gas tank straps and has two wings which ...oh to heck with it; I'll try and post a picture  Sorry for the size (it's probobly too big) but I'm new to this picture hosting stuff.
