Default What a beauty

Don't think it was an ambulance as they had the speaking tube in the back of the cab, the ARN has a 6 not a G.

So many original bits there, very unmolested.

Were there any data plates present?

Default Data plates

No Keith i didnt see any data plates. Now that i look at it i can see its a 6 not a G can you get any details from those numbers? Are the data numbers on the engine cover? The farmer also said there was a Ford on the next farm so ill check that out later on, my mate is working on many farms and will be asking farmers if they have or know of any others.

Default Numbers

Hi Shane

Yes the ARN probably can tell me something about it, the original identity will be revealed soon. It has an interesting history.

Well, the rectangular instrument panel and roof hatch make it a 42 or 43 model.

Default Arn 61153

This truck was originally a "Trucks, 3-ton Portee with Bofors", possibly a pilot model.

This meant it did not have a roof, and it was probably converted back to a standard truck sometime in it's career.

Because it was a C60L chassis it would not have had an ambulance body as they fitted the 134" chassis.

Default Indeed

That's the one. Those were taken at Wesley. Your third pic is of one of the Fords.

Tim Vibert built a version of this truck many years ago.
