Bedford MW aeroscreen restoration

Managed a couple of hours yesterday after work and have finished replacing the last of the worn spring bushes and pins, radiator is away being sorted so its getting closer to running he engine

One of my MCC 15 cwt CS8 wrecks here has a couple of the aero screen hinges in situ on the cowl - I'd like to know how the actual screen frame is made . I do have some drawings somewhere from R Ballard but they didn't seem right to me

I made the aeroscreen mount with jeremy, they came out very well thanks, but they all sold very quickly. At the moment i'm not planning to do any more.

Mike are the Morris ones similar to WOT ? I do have one original screen largely complete

Ok back to the real world of my Bedford resto if you two want to discuss aeroscreen fittings do it somewhere else please here are a couple of pics of the new brackets I made the patterns for and John very kindly did all the fettling and machining I can see now how much hard work went into them especially the dreaded wing nuts, thanks again John they look the dogs doh dah's can't wait till I fit them to the bulkhead

This is the complete windscreen frame removed from a Fordson WOT 2H I recovered but obviously refitted from a WOT 2D at some stage. Or a Bedford!!

The brass hinge piece measures 92mm x45mm

Is the glass frame made from steel ? Hard to tell in that pic but it appears to be so Mike

Yes Mike. Steel frame. This one should clean up ok. Any spare ones about?

None that I know of Maybe we could look into making a few frames ,Is that possible? That frame you have is the only example I've ever seen in Australia - its as rare as the proverbial stuff Mike

Yes by all means open a new thread on aero screens as I will need a pair in the near future as my resto progresses, and detailed photo's are always usefull chaps.Hello Wayno good to see you on here too itsa small world

Yes its time to loosely fit the restored radiator today bit more fettling before the chassis has a last coat of paint

After recovering from the trip to Normandy I've managed to get some more work done on the MW

Chassis has now had final coat of paint and so has the bulkhead plus have the new timber for the cab floor

have now sorted some temp tyres most of the cab floor and have the new loom to fit. Forgot to mention that I have had the engine running too
