Hi Chris, u are right on saying best place to look is the USA. I contacted Boyse equiptment in Utah and they are selling the ones they have for 5000.00 US. I see in your listing of vehicles u have a m715, there is a beautiful m725 here for sale in Regina. How do u like your m715, i was considering the m725 but hear the motor is not that good.

The M715 I really like. It is no Dodge M37 for sure but cool nonetheless.
The original motors are junk, they were from the beginning. Lots of guys opt out for a motor change of whatever; guys are doing diesels, small blocks, big blocks you name it. I will probably end up doing a Cummins 6BT swap eventually. The Cummins 4BT is a little easier to fit but about twice the price to find. A M724 will drive like a lumber wagon. For everyday use, a M1008 makes a lot of sense. Maybe one day I'll end up with one of those as well.

Generally, any that are kicking around in Canada have been out of service for almost 20 years. Any of the mil-spec aspects of the Cdn CUCV will usually be long gone by now. In the US, they are still coming out of their disposal system at times, since many filtered their way down to other government users.
Shipping in the US isn't that bad, just as long as you pick it up on that side of the border. You could also use up your air miles, fly down and drive it back. Here is an example of what you'll generally find here in Canada: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-transmission-...ationFlag=true Last edited by rob love; 25-05-14 at 06:11. |

Hi Rob, there are quite a few for sale in the US but just waiting for the right one to come along. There is a guy in regina selling some mv, heavy metal. Way to big trucks for me . I am in no rush to find a m1008 just snooping to see if anything available in Canada before i venture down south. That fix on my rad worked great, thanks for your advice.

Check this one out, I know it is not a M1008 rather a M1031 but it's here in Ontario and the price looks decent.
