Both types of POW cans here are difficult to find, especially the 1gal version.
They do pop up at farm and yard sales sometimes and as long as you are the onlu military collector there they go cheap.
We certainly did not see the same amount of these surplus over here because most are over there!
The same goes for most Gerry cans, whether they are American, German etc.
German ones here are especially expensive and hard to find although I did luck out last year when I found a stash real cheap at a junk sale.

Chris, get yourself on uk ebay item 400714504213 buy a 1 gallon for a tenner, I'm sure he will post it to you for about £15.
