Hi Guys
I have another small question is this the correct mirror bracket for a cab 12 cgt. It appears to be made from a door hinge.

Hi Niels
Matches the mirror bracket on one of Bill Gregg's http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/R...20color005.jpg ![]() But does not match the other http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/R...20color004.jpg ![]() If you want a larger hi-res version of these photos go to http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/CMP84.htm and click on the image or click the links above. (note I'll post actual copies of the photo to MLU when I have a moment for archive purpose) Cheers Phil

Thanks Phil
Well the one that matches is a Chevrolet and the other is a Ford, so that could be the reason for the difference? Is it possible to retrace where a Army auxiliary workshop (B42) was during the war? and what the original census number was?

Hi
Here is another set of questions. Does any one know if it is correct that the fire extinguisher was placed to the right of the driver, beneath the sidewindow ? on a Cab 12 GT There are six holes in the side placed in pairs at an angle. The placement and distance between these holes corresponds well to the size of a Pyrene extinguisher, The problem is that on all the british vehicles I have seen/worked on the bracket for a Pyrene have 5 mounting holes. Did the Canadians use a different bracket than the british? and if so how does it look and where do I find one? Second question In wartime pictures it looks like there was a pad on the inside of the roof, does any one have any dimensions or pictures of this and know how it was attached? there are no visible holes in the hatch of mine for a pad. Cheers

Regarding the number of holes....My C8 also has 6 holes in the rear cab wall and I came to the same conclusion as you did. Both extinguisher brackets I bought online have 5 holes.....My conclusion is that it might have to do with the release mechanism.....my examples have the spring loaded thingy holding the top, but I have also seen them with an extra band/quick release thingy about 2/3 thirds along the extinguisher. Maybe that's the type using 6 mounting holes???? Alex

Hi Alex
Thanks for confriming that I as well have both sping loaded, with band 2/3 up and a with clamp that goes over the pump handle, and these are all 5 hole versions. From looking on google it seems that US vehicles had different types of 6 hole brackets. I wonder which type is the moste correct for a CMP?
